Draftsman Cum Site Supervisor

1.      JOB PURPOSE

To prepare accurate architectural supermarket space management, knowledge of interior fit-out, and MEP coordination drawings for new stores, renovations, and refurbishment projects while supporting the Projects team through site supervision, quality inspections, contractor coordination, and ensuring compliance with company standards, authority regulations, and project timelines.

The role will bridge the gap between design and execution by ensuring that drawings are practical, coordinated, and accurately implemented at site.

2.Minimum Qualifications-

2.1   Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design, or a related discipline.

2.2   Minimum 5 years' experience in retail fit-out, supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience stores, commercial interiors, or shopping malls.

2.3   Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD (mandatory).

2.4   Proficiency in SketchUp, Enscape /Lumion, Photoshop, and MS Office is preferred.

2.5   Strong understanding of retail planning, customer circulation, merchandising layouts, equipment integration, and interior detailing.

2.6   Knowledge of UAE authority requirements including Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, DEWA, SIRA, Trakhees, RTA, DIFC, and other local authorities.

2.7   Ability to prepare:

• Architectural drawings
• Interior fit-out drawings
• Shop drawings
• Joinery details
• Ceiling plans
• Flooring layouts
• Elevations & sections
• MEP coordination drawings
• As-built drawings
• Good understanding of construction methods, materials, finishes, and retail fixtures.

·      Valid UAE Driving Licence preferred.

3.      KEY DIMENSIONS AND RELATED JOB RESULTS

4.1   Prepare concept layouts based on business requirements.

4.2   Produce complete architectural drawing packages.

4.3   Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, refrigeration, signage, and equipment layouts.

4.4   Ensure drawings comply with company standards and authority requirements.

4.5   Maintain drawing registers and revision control.

4.6   Site Supervision

4.6.1     Conduct regular site inspections.

4.6.2     Verify construction against approved drawings.

4.6.3     Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions.

4.6.4     Monitor workmanship and installation quality.

4.6.5     Ensure contractors follow approved specifications.

4.6.6     Prepare site observation reports.

4.6.7     Assist in snagging and de-snagging activities.

4.6.8     Verify measurements before fabrication and installation.

4.6.9     Coordinate site changes and update drawings accordingly.

4.7. Project Coordination

4.7.1     Attend project coordination meetings.

4.7.2     Support quantity verification and BOQ preparation.

4.7.3     Assist in contractor evaluations.

4.7.4     Coordinate with suppliers for shop drawing approvals.

4.7.5     Support authority submissions where required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software
